Village Vet Cambridge welcomes new clinical director, Rebecca Gilbert

27/01/2023

Village Vet Cambridge has appointed a new clinical director to lead its team.

Music-loving Rebecca Gilbert, who plays the violin and piano, proved to be fully in tune with the aims and ambitions of Village Vet in Cambridge when appointed to the top job at the start of the year.

Rebecca graduated from Cambridge Vet School in 2002 and started work in a mixed practice where, by her second day, she found herself in at the deep end in sole charge of the surgery.

Other highlights in her career so far include being promoted to lead vet in 2019, overseeing bronze and silver Investors in Environment (iiE) accreditation at a six-site practice owned by Linnaeus, while also completing the veterinary business management certificate from Liverpool University last year.

Rebecca said: “Village Vet has an enviable reputation and I’m looking forward to using my skills to promote the very best aspects of the practice so we can provide a first-class level of care to even more sick and injured animals.

“I also believe that any veterinary practice needs a strong and motivated team, such as the one at Village Vet, and I will continue to place our people at the heart of what we do.”

Outside of work, as well as a strong interest in music and singing, Rebecca is also very active and enjoys dog walking, distance running, hiking, skiing, camping, sailing and kayaking.
