Eye disease is very common in small animals. We love nothing more than seeing the joy for both pet and owner when a small animal’s vision is repaired or restored.

Our Ophthalmology service is led by Dr Barbara Thielman MVM BSAVA PGCertSAOphthal MRCVS.

Barbara received her master’s in veterinary medicine from the university of Ghent, Belgium in 2009. She completed her internship at the University of Vienna, Austria where her passion for ophthalmology began to develop . After having spent a few years in general practice in Germany, France and the UK, Barbara joined the Village Vet family in 2016. She further improved her knowledge in veterinary ophthalmology by successfully completing the Postgraduate Certificate in Small Animal Ophthalmology.

Barbara consults at the Primrose Hill, St Albans (Caytons), Potters Bar and Winchmore Hill clinics.
