Rebecca Brooks

Head Vet

Hello, my name is Rebecca and I’m very excited to be a part of Village Vet. I have been in search of a clinic I can call home and hope that I can provide home comforts to all of my patients in the consult room. My patients are my priority and I never want them to feel stressed or anxious when they are visiting the clinic.

Growing up, I shared my home with a lot of animals – including rescued wildlife and developed my love of animals from my mother who worked as a trainer for many years. Our home was a revolving door of rehabilitating wildlife, including a talking parrot who had been seized after being trafficked into the United States as a fledgling.

I have been working with animals for over 10 years in different capacities. Starting my training as a veterinary nurse and completing my training here in London at the Royal Veterinary College.

My focus is surgery, I am currently working on a surgical certificate, allowing me to provide more options to my patients in need instead of referring to other hospitals.

I love what I do and hope that will be apparent when we meet at the clinic!

I have a giant mixed breed older dog, MD, who keeps me busy at home and Mrs Norris, an adult cat who was abandoned during COVID. After a few months of adjustment, they now share the same bed, which is a big victory.

When I’m not at the clinic, I’m taking MD for long hikes with my partner or travelling to whatever faraway places time will allow.

Owning pets is so rewarding, but can be stressful financially and emotionally, and I hope to make that an easier journey for you and your furry (or scaly) family!
