Michelle Donovan

Veterinary Nurse

I grew up with animals in the family, from guinea pigs, to dogs, cats and horses.  I was torn between becoming a veterinary nurse for small animals or equines.  I chose to be a small animal veterinary nurse and keep horses as my hobby.

I qualified in 1999 with Stowe Vet Group and then joined the Animal Health Trust (AHT) and completed the Advanced Diploma in Medicine in 2009.  I then focussed on writing articles and helping teach veterinary nurse students, within the practice, which I found very rewarding.

I’m passionate about nursing and really enjoy nursing a variety of patients, although medicine is my favourite area.  I have now joined Village Vet as a float nurse in 2020, where I will be able to utilise many nursing skills.

When I’m not working, I enjoy socialising with friends, riding at my local stables and having my crazy cat Smartie.
